The film picks up where the first installment left off, with Grug (voiced by Nicolas Cage), the patriarch of the Croods family, and his wife, Ugga (voiced by Elena Anaya), trying to provide for their three children: Thunk (voiced by Clark Duke), Gran (voiced by Emma Louise-Burton), and Guy (voiced by Justin Long). The family sets out to find a new home, leaving behind their crumbling cave. Along the way, they stumble upon a stunning, lush forest, teeming with life and filled with wondrous sights.

As they explore this new environment, they come across a group of humans, the Belly Brawlers, who seem to have it all - a beautiful home, abundant food, and a strong sense of community. The Croods are immediately drawn to this new way of life and decide to make the Belly Brawlers' home their own.
